Powell Butte Christian Church has active youth programs. For kids too old for AWANA or in the 6-8th grades, we have a Middle School program. Pastor Ozzy wants to begin equipping youth to understand the Bible, topics like: ‘Who is God’, ‘Following Jesus’, ‘Pain and Struggles’ and much more. These are the years when youth start to formulate their understanding about God and his relationship with them. We also have a High School group for those from their Freshmen to Senior years. These are years when youth question their own value, the value of their beliefs and make life decisions leading them into their adult years. The high school looks at complex topics such as, ‘Life Purpose’, ‘Is the Bible Believable’, ‘Integrity’ and ‘Other Religions’ to name a few.
But a Youth Group is also about DOING. Here they will have opportunities to build relationships, go on short term missions, volunteer in their community, reaching out to help less fortunate and gain life skills.
Middle School meets on Wednesdays starting at 6:00pm in the Net building
High School meets on Thursdays starting at 6:45pm inside the main building (board room)
Through out the year the youth participate in many activities like Souper Bowl, Mission 4 Mexico, Revolve, Youth Retreats, Concerts, Hikes, Trips to the Lake, Purity Campout, See You at the Pole, Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat, Thanksgiving and Christmas Parties and other events.
