Senior Pastor: Chris Blair

chris_blair Pastor Chris and his wife Debbi have been married since 1986 and have been ministering at Powell Butte since 1998. Before that Chris was the pastor at a church in northern Idaho, and before that he was in youth ministry for ten years. He has a Bachelor of Science from San Jose Bible College in Rocklin, California (now William Jessup University) and a Master of Arts from Hope International University. Chris and Debbi have two grown sons. Chris likes to read, watch old movies, and ride his motorcycle. He is one of the worst golfers of all time. He also loves to preach and teach, and has been involved in several short term mission trips.

His life verse is: “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.” 2nd Thessalonians 3:5 NIV

Associate Pastor: Glenn Bartnik

Pastor Glenn Bartnik, and his wife Bonnie, have been members at PBCC since 1975, after relocating here from the Portland area.  Both are native Oregonians.  They have 3 grown children and 11 grandchildren.  Glenn held many leadership positions at PBCC over the years, and was ordained at PBCC in 1995.  He began pastoring right away at two assisted-living homes, in two Central Oregon communities.   After retiring from 30 years of teaching, he became Senior Pastor at First Christian Church in Madras .  There he also served as Chaplain for Hospice of Mountain View Hospital, and served on-call for Police, Fire, and Emergency Services in Jefferson County.   He served at Real Life Christian Church, Bend, as Associate Pastor, building  Small Groups, and then as Interim Pastor for the Christian Church of Redmond.  He returned “Home” to PBCC, January 2004, and is serving as Associate Pastor!

Glenn’s favorite verse is “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NIV

Youth Pastor: Ozzy Osborne

Youth Pastor Ozzy and his wife Kristi are both from Montana.  Ozzy became a born-again believer on April 15, 2001 and he and Kristi were married in 2008. Ozzy attended Montana State University Northern in Havre MT, Briercrest College in Caronport SK Canada and graduated from Boise Bible College with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry in 2008. Ozzy’s ministry experience includes assisting with the youth at Havre AofG, working at the Regina Rescue Mission in Canada and as an intern and associate minister at Parkview Bible Fellowship in Boise ID.  In August of 2010 he joined PBCC as the Youth pastor.

When Ozzy isn’t hanging out with the Youth, he enjoys rooting for the Oakland Raiders, MSU Bobcats and BSU Broncos. Kristi and Ozzy are also professionals on the Nintendo Wii.

Ozzy’s life verse is “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

Children’s Church: Dani Hebener

dani_hebener Dani and her husband Phill have been married since 1997.  They have been attending PBCC since 1998.  They have two girls, Samantha and Madelynn, that like to help out in Children’s Church and the Nursery.  Dani has taken classes and has received certificates in Children’s Ministry.  She enjoys working with the children, helping them learn about the amazing love our God has for each of us, and how to apply each lesson to everyday life.  She works part time at the church and part time as a bookkeeper.  Dani also recently went with the PBCC team on a mission to Uganda, Africa.  The Hebener family likes to camp, hunt, fish and craft.  OK, so the Hebener girls like to craft and Phill likes to ride his motorcycle with the men at church.

Dani’s favorite bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:1:8 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:…”

Pastor Emeritus: Tom Shelton

Tom Shelton: Bachelor of Theology from Northwest Christian College in Eugene, OR; Bachelor of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana. During his ministry, Tom has served the following churches: Mallory Avenue Christian Church, Portland, 1 year; Pastor of Columbia Falls Christian Church, Montana, 5 yrs; Rocklane Christian Church, Greenwod, Indiana, 4 yrs; First Christian Church (now Discovery Christian Church), Bend – serving twice at this church, total 16 yrs; Allison Park Christian Church, Eugene, 10 yrs; served one year as a counseling pastor for the Eugene Faith Center, 4-Square Gospel Church; and finally, Powell Butte Christian Church, for 6 years. Tom enjoys counseling and talking to people about how to become a Christian. Tom and his wife Ruby have 2 adult children.

Office Manager: Linda Groff

Linda Groff was born and raised in Scranton Pennsylvania.  She moved to Central Oregon in 1973.  She was in the Hospitality industry for 27 years before starting on staff at PBCC in 2004.   She has 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren, all living in Central Oregon.

She enjoys spending time with family and traveling with her husband Barry.  She loves going for walks, exercising, snowmobiling and would love to learn to fly someday.

Linda’s life verse is: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7 NKJV
